Yours to Build
The character a life is built on.
There are no levels. Nobody finishes. We’re not going to hand you a score — and you shouldn’t keep one on yourself.
Being counted on takes people counting. Knowing what’s yours takes someone who can tell you when you’re wrong. We do this together.
- Self-command. Decision and follow-through. Nothing else moves until this does. They used to call it temperance.
- Judgment. Knowing what’s yours to do — not the career, not the life that piled up because nobody stopped it, but the work and the people that are genuinely yours.
- Integrity. Being one person in every room — and able to keep your word.
- Constancy. Being someone who can be counted on. Not more intensity — just showing up, over years.
- Endurance. Being able to carry what’s been handed to you.
- Backbone. Being willing to be thought less of. Setting aside applause, even money. Staying with what is right and what is yours, even as it costs you.
- Giving. Giving people their due, and giving of ourselves. Without this, life hardens and narrows.
We begin with the plain, practical ones.
